How are the customs procedures executed?

Goods are declared to the EU customs by e-means:
  • You send us the necessary documents and information by e-mail.
  • We are completing declaration and submitting it to customs online.
  • Customs clears the declaration.
  • We give you the number of declaration and (or) send you the declaration.
  • When customs cleared goods are further transported by auto transport, customs prints out and gives the driver a copy of accompanying document.
During the customs clearance (and also after the customs clearance) customs has the right to carry out inspection of documents and goods, and this procedure differs from country to country. For example, in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium:
  • When preferential tariff is applied to the certain commodity and Form A certificate of origin is indicated, it is not necessary to submit the original document when applying for import procedure. In case the customs will be willing to check the certificate of origin, they will ask to send the document within the fixed period after the customs clearance.
  • If customs identifies inaccuracies in the documents compared to the actual data of the load, administrative sanctions are not applied.
When applying for import procedure in Lithuania and Latvia the original documents of origin must be submitted to customs during the customs clearance. In case of inaccuracies customs can apply administrative sanctions.

Contact us and we will provide you detailed information about the requirements and work practice of customs in the country you will be interested in.
